Happy Birthday To Me!!!

I'm 39!  Again!  Today is going to be a fun day.  My DH is taking me to Hobby Lobby to go shopping with the money my wonderful daddy put in my bank account today.  I am going to get polymer clay supplies, and I'm going to check out their beads.  I know there are those out there who would never dream of using "cheap" beads from places like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc.  But you know what?  For those of us on a budget, we can stretch our money and use our creativity to make those "cheap" beads into some pretty nice things.  What is wrong with some inexpensive things as long as they're pretty and you like them?  That would be like saying no clothes are worth buying unless they come from Nieman Marcus.  That would just be ridiculous.  When I get home I'll take some pics of what I get and post them in a day or two.

I also had a hard time deciding where I want to go for my birthday dinner with my family. Damned if I'm cooking on my day!  I was thinking Panda Express, but my DH says that adds up awful darn quick, and they don't have anything vegetarian for my daughter, Samantha.  Came up with a great idea!  Souper Salad!  What is better than a buffet for a family with kids?  They don't have to wait to eat, they can eat as much as they want, they get to make their own desserts, AND Sami can have her vegetarian food.  Win win win!

At tonight's baseball game my daughter, Sara, hit a HOME RUN!!!  She's the only girl on her team in the boys' league and one of the youngest on the team to boot.  She sure showed those boys!  Way to go Sara!!!

AND to celebrate my birthday with all of my readers, everything in my Etsy shop is 20% off today with coupon code happybday2011!

Happy Birthday Lisa!! You're HOW OLD??!!?? ~lol~

Have fun shopping at HL. I buy beads there a lot!! Terry will always go to HL with me and he always finds something he wants. We bought a bench for the front deck last week and of course the new Haute Purse issue was out...and the new Stitch issue..and the clerk took an expired coupon to help the cause. I LOVE that place.

We all go out to eat about once a week and I have found that if we eat lunch out its just about as expensive as fast food sandwiches for all of us. The boys like a late lunch buffet, which usually gets me off the hook for supper too.

Have a great day, and don't forget to post pics.!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!

Michael's and HL have really stepped up their bead games in the last year or so, and I bet you'll find some uber cool treasures. Besides, even a bad bead is better than a good ..... well I was going to say cupcake, but cupcakes are pretty dang good.

I hope you have an awesome day with your gorgeous family.

(and congrats to your daughter!)

I'm so glad you said that about "cheap" beads! LOL, it's not in my budget to purchase awesome beads all the time. For me, for now, I feel like mixing up the cheaper beads with some of my better beads is perfectly acceptable! I buy "good" beads when I know the quality of the bead will be a focal point. Plus as Julianna said, Michael's, Joann's and Hobby Lobby really have stepped up to the plate!

I use a LOT of inexpensive beads in all of my work, and you are right -- it's the presentation that counts. Happy Birthday!

Happy happy day to you my dear friend. We are close in birthdays. I knew there was something special about you, other than the obvious.
Hey I shop bead where ever. We don't have Hobby Lobby here but when I am back east I shop there and Michael's has come a long way with beads. Including Toho, Swarovski and some great findings. I don't think it matters where you buy your supplies as long as YOU love them and will create with them.
Have the most wonderful day ever
